Meet
Kathleen
Kathleen’s
appreciation for art and architecture started early. When she was six,
her family moved from Portland, Oregon to Ankara, Turkey, then to Madrid,
Spain. This 12-year immersion in other cultures sparked a love of art
that led Kathleen to a degree in the subject from Lewis and Clark College.
Her
artistic talents sought a practical application, and interior design
was the answer. Kathleen earned an honors degree in interior design from
Northern Arizona University. She started her practice in the Palm Springs
area, integrating contemporary design principles with her exposure to
classic ancient cultures. She has worked with clients throughout southern
California.
In
1998, Kathleen’s passing interest in feng shui was awakened in
earnest when she attended a four-week intensive program with Nancy SantoPietro,
one of the world’s most well-known feng shui experts. From the
first class, Kathleen was hooked. She went on to become certified by
Lillian Garnier-Bridges in Five Element Feng Shui, and by Denise Linn
in Interior Alignment Feng Shui. She also has studied extensively with
R.D. Chin.
Today,
she offers her clients feng shui consultations, design and color coaching,
custom interior design based on feng shui principles, and clearing and
blessing ceremonies. She also hosts feng shui classes, writes a weekly "Simply
Feng Shui" column in The Desert Sun, and has at least one book project
underway at all times.
In her private time, Kathleen enjoys reading, golf, foreign and independent
films, playing with friends and family, and ballroom dancing: Argentinian
Tango, Swing, Cha Cha, Waltz, and Samba.
